Before retirement, Rick worked as a police Lieutenant in the Midwest, he also worked as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and a Detective in solving crimes.
As an Administrative Lieutenant in criminal investigations, he supervised the detectives within the Major Case Homicide and Robbery Unit, Drug Investigation Unit, Crime Analysis Unit, and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
